For influencer supplement brand ELVOU we built 3D models with hover animation that make the store interactive and lift conversion.
elvou.com ↗The concept: hover over a product and the lid comes off, the pill comes out, the jar floats up. An interactive effect that keeps visitors on the page longer and makes the product tangible without holding it.
The brief
ELVOU is a supplement brand from influencer Joep Rovers, built on its own store rather than on marketplaces. The brief was specific: turn the store into an experience that stands apart from the standard supplement shop. Not more of the same, but something that suits a new audience arriving through social media with higher visual standards.
The challenge was that ELVOU keeps extending the product line. New variants, new flavours, new formulas. With a traditional photography approach that means going back into the studio every month for packshots. With a 3D approach it means: model once, vary endlessly.
Our approach
We started with product photography as the base. For each product we shot high-end packshots in the studio that became the reference for the 3D models. Then we built every product in 3D with identical lighting and proportion to the photography, so the transition between photo and render is seamless.
The next step was the loop animation. Per product a short sequence of two to four seconds that plays on hover: lid off, capsule out, box floating. Subtle movement, never shouty, and tuned to the brand identity. Implemented in WebGL so the animation runs smoothly on every device without heavy downloads.
What we delivered
For ELVOU we delivered the complete visual line: product photography as the foundation, 3D models for every product variant, hover animation optimised for the web (no 50MB downloads), and the implementation guidelines for the web team to wire the animation into the Shopify store. Plus the source files in Blender and Cinema 4D so ELVOU can add new variants themselves or have a third party do it.
The result
The store feels like holding the brand without touching it. Visitors stay on product pages longer, and the hover interaction has become something people mention in social posts and reviews. For brands that control their own store, this is the kind of 3D that lifts conversion measurably without freeing up a dramatic budget.
This approach works specifically for your own store. On Bol.com or Amazon you have no control over hover effects or embedded animation. On a Shopify or Webflow site you do. That is where 3D modeling becomes a conversion tool rather than a visual trick. For brands weighing an investment in 3D, ELVOU is the case that shows the technique does not have to be a gimmick but can be a commercial instrument.
