Amazon A+ Content that lifts conversion
We build A+ Content for brands that want to be more than a product page with bullet points. Full module architecture, product photography, comparison charts and brand storytelling. For Premium A+ we also design video, hover modules and extended comparison tables.
On Amazon your product page sits next to hundreds of similar products. The default product information (title, bullet points, hero image and short description) is enough for Amazon's algorithm to rank you, but for a customer who lands on the page it's only half the story. A+ Content fills in the other half: visual modules below the basic info that explain what makes your product different, who it's for, and why it beats the alternative four rows down in the search results.
The effect isn't in the bells and whistles. It is in removing doubt. Most Amazon shoppers want confirmation that this is the right product, not seduction. A+ Content delivers that confirmation through comparison charts (why this model and not the basic version), brand storytelling (who is behind the product), USP grids (which features are decisive) and lifestyle photography (what does the product look like in your situation). How much that delivers depends on what was there before. A text-only listing gains more than one that already had strong images. So we don't promise a percentage up front; we measure it after launch.
The second effect lives in retention and repeat purchase. Customers who buy via a strong A+ Content page remember the brand better than customers who buy from a text page. For rebrands or multi-product launches that's decisive: a customer who converted on A+ Content returns faster for the next product from the same brand than one who saw text-only.
An A+ Content page has a fixed set of module types but the order and combination determine the outcome. We don't build from "what looks good" but from "what does a customer scroll on mobile". 70 percent of Amazon traffic in the Netherlands is mobile, and on mobile a customer scrolls two to three modules deep before deciding. Module 1 and 2 must therefore carry the two most important messages.
The architecture that works consistently in our projects: hero module with your strongest lifestyle shot and a short killer line (1), comparison chart if you have multiple variants or a clear differentiator over a cheaper alternative (2), brand-story module for customers buying on brand (3), USP grid with three to four visual bullet points (4), and optionally a testimonial or FAQ module at the end for customers who still hesitate (5). For categories where specs are decisive (electronics, tools, health products) we swap 2 and 4: USP grid first, comparison after.
For Premium A+ the rules shift slightly. Premium adds video modules and hover images and increases the maximum number of modules from 5 to 7. Our experience: don't use all 7 slots. Four or five strong modules outperform seven modules of which two are filler. The extra video module is best used for product demos in categories where usage isn't obvious: massage guns, smart devices, beauty tools.
A+ Content requires Amazon Brand Registry. Brand Registry in turn requires a registered trademark in a country where Amazon operates. For Dutch brands that's typically a Benelux or EU mark. The trademark process takes six to nine months. After that the Brand Registry application with Amazon takes another two to four weeks. For brands not yet started: begin in parallel as soon as you know you want to be on Amazon. Otherwise you're stuck with basic listings until registration completes.
Compliance is the second pitfall. Amazon's A+ Content specs are strict and shift periodically. Module-specific dimensions, prohibited text (no health-effect claims without substantiation, no price mentions, no external links), category-specific legal disclaimers. We track the current specs and QA every module before publication. Listings rejected for compliance issues can be offline for weeks, and in peak categories like health and electronics that means revenue you literally leave on the table during busy periods.
Multi-marketplace strategy often belongs in this trajectory too. A+ Content can largely be repurposed for Bol.com Branded Content (same principles, different template). And the other way around: brands with existing Bol.com Branded Content can use it as a starting point for A+ Content. We coordinate so the visual system stays consistent across both platforms. For brands expanding to Germany, France or the UK the same A+ Content base with language adjustments is usually sufficient, provided the modules were designed culture-neutral from the start.
